Hello, everyone.

This month’s issue of Chichi features a special section titled “A Study of Luck in Human Life.” What an interesting topic!

When asked how to attract good luck, Kazuo Inamori says the answer is the words “thank you.” Even when faced with unreasonable demands or difficult challenges, we should accept them positively, thinking, “This is a challenge that will help me grow.”

It is said that good luck will escape us if we use negative words, feel jealousy, complain, resent others, or even grumble a little.

What I found particularly interesting were the “conditions that bring bad luck.” These are the words of Masahiro Ando.

  • Being overly particular about cleanliness and perfection
  • Being quick to anger
  • Lacking love and respect for others
  • Talking too much
  • Drinking too much alcohol

We must avoid being excessively particular, to the point of nitpicking over every little detail.

And talking too much without listening to others is not good either.

Some of you may have decided to cut back on alcohol starting today! (Laughs)

It seems that the secret to attracting good luck is to be broad-minded, forgive others, always have a smile on your face, and maintain a cheerful attitude.
